We have two barred rock hens that are free to a good home. They are very sociable, friendly chickens....good with kids, our dog, and adults, too. They were born in April 2007, and we raised them since they were one day old chicks. We had them cooped the first year, but have been letting them free-range (in good weather) since last summer. We got three new chicks this spring that should start laying eggs any day now, so we are hoping to find a good home for the older girls before then. Barred rocks are good egg-layers, but production decreases after the first few years.
